Sibling Rivalry, Take Two
I was very surprised at the speed at which things moved with getting my novel into print this time around. Not the editing process, but the printing one. The release date I knew about was September 15th. Then on Coteau’s website, it was listed as September 1. So imagine my surprise when I got an email while vacationing that they had the books back from the printers.
And yesterday I got my boxes. Whoa. Very fast indeed. To discover how the new book is being received by its “siblings”, I’m directing you to Facebook. Read the captions to get the whole story.
I haven’t been thinking much about promotions. Obviously that has to change pronto.

First Review of Drummer Girl
I’ve been so busy holidaying that I completely forgot to tell you that the first review of Drummer Girl came out on August 1st.
Much of the review talks about the story, then winds up with: “She keeps her characters real and demonstrates just how sexual harassment can damage the lives of everyone involved. Fast paced and insightful, a good choice for teen readers, especially those interested in music.”
Best part? It’s from Kirkus. My third book, but my first Kirkus review. And it’s a good one! *doing a happy dance*

Brand new look thanks to WordPress.
I had my new website all ready to go, then massively messed it up when I tried to transfer it from where I was working on it, to where it needed to be so people could see it. But thanks to my uber-helpful web host magician, who cleaned up my mess then reinstalled WordPress, I’m up and running. I still have a few things to tweak, but the site is usable. Thanks, Eric!
